Look Great Despite Your Hair Loss
As someone who knows the pains of hair loss, I feel comfortable making this general statement to every man with thinning hair:
Come on guys…cut yourself a break!
By now, you’ve seen all the half-hearted attempts to cover thinning hair or baldness. You’ve seen the comb-overs, the cheap toupees, and messy hair to try and hide what nature is doing. But in most cases, the result is…a whole lot worse than just dealing with thinning hair or baldness.
You know, we’ve done some really crazy things to give off the impression of indifference. However, most the time it just looks like sloppiness, laziness, or a bad sense of style.
So, here are a few tips to make sure you always look great despite thinning hair or male pattern baldness:
Keep it Cut: even if you have a full head of hair, not keeping it well-groomed is a poor move. Unless you’re going for the long, shaggy look (bad move for guys who are balding), your hair should stay trimmed around the ears and neckline. You don’t want to give people another reason to scrutinize your hair.
Go to a Stylist: there are hair styles that will effectively minimize the look of thinning hair. You’ve seen stars like Bruce Willis, Matthew McConaughey, Jude Law rock thinner or balding hair, right? Professional hair stylists have helped them know what looks are best. A stylist can do the same thing for you. And they’re not going to recommend a comb-over. If you don’t have time or don’t want to go to a stylist, try downloading our Style Guide for Men.
Give the Appearance You Care: any head of hair is seriously improved when you take an interest in the rest of your appearance. Women spend hours deciding what to wear. I just want to encourage you to spend more than 5 minutes picking your clothes. (Six or seven minutes should do it.) Find things that are stylish and enhance your better features.
Try a Hair Thickener: for those of you with thinning hair, there are alternative solutions to just letting it happen. Volluma is a hair thickening agent that makes your hair appear thick and full. It’s a fast, simple way to give you the freedom to style your hair any way you want to.
Just because you have thinning hair doesn’t mean you should sport whatever look you want. You have options. Try a few and see what it takes to make you look like the Casanova you used to be.
